How to teach a memorable live class online

That's it!

The words "teach" "live class" and "online" likely freak a lot of people out, but you don't want to be one of them.

I know, passive income sounds really awesome.

Who doesn't want to make some courses and info products and then chill at the beach while the $$$ continues to land in your Stripe account?

That's the dream you and I are both sold on by some influencers.

Passive income is certainly possible if you invest in stocks and literally sit there and wait. But we are talking about the knowledge industry here. No one can do nothing and still make income.

Yes, you can sell info products while you sleep, but you still have to create content, write emails, or form partnerships if you want that to happen.

You know, for the longest time, I thought you could just use social media X email marketing X info products to make a ton of money. As time goes on, I have a new understanding of how this game is played.

If you want to have a strong brand, if you want to have true fans, if you want to be around for a long long time, you have to show up in front of real people.

One live experience changes how people see you. If you do a great job, they remember you. They follow you. They pay attention to what you do and sell.

That's also why live classes, workshops, and events are so important in my business mix. We are human beings. We need to bond.

But the problem is that most virtual classes and events suck. They are boring and predictable. They leave you with a sigh "What a waste of my time! I don't want to join a live class anymore!"

A few months ago, in April, I was invited to a public speaking course called Ultraspeaking. I said yes because why wouldn't I want to level up my public speaking skills?

What happened in those 2 live sessions blew me away.

It was one of the best live class experiences I've ever had.

Reader, of course, I want to show you what they did in class + share 3 tips so you can replicate their success.

Are you in Bangkok?

Next month between Aug 7-14, I will be in Bangkok, Thailand with my wife and 2 girls.

Just want to see if anyone in the Small School community is based there so we can do a mini meetup! I'd love to see you!

Let me know :)

Cheers,
Kevon

Do you want people to share your work? I guess so! Who doesn't like word-of-mouth, right? But I think most of us have this fantasy: we can sit and wait for that to happen. If I learned one thing from my last 12 years of working, I'd say success is not passive. Success can't be passive! You want to go out and get it. I remember when I was running Build in Public Mastery, I had to constantly talk about the program to keep the momentum high. That drew interest from prospective students. Each...

In 2019-2020, I spent 1 million USD. I rarely talked about my past life before running Small School because it was a very different world. I wasn't sure how to connect the dots for you. I was building a SaaS startup. I had angel investors (so yup, I didn't spend my own money). I had a team of talented people. I was working 14-15 hours a day trying to make it work. Obviously it didn't work out. Otherwise I wouldn't be on this new path and get this amazing chance to connect with you (ha!), but...

Go take 3 seconds to google “business card on steroids”, what did you find? . . . You'll find many people talking about how you should write a book. Because when you have a low-priced product packed with value, you can grow your brand quickly. You can go on podcasts to talk about the ideas in your book. When you meet someone new, you can gift this person your book. That's why it is a "business card on steroids". (This is also why so many people published a book in the last few years) I...
